Kawale Traffic Police impound 40 motor vehicles during traffic enforcement

Kawale Traffic Police on January 23, 2026 mantained its drive in traffic enforcement exercise.

This is a continuation of the traffic enforcement exercise that the station is conducting under the watch of Assistance Supritendent Thom Maloni.

During today’s operation, traffic officers had to counter check road networks within Kawale that includes Chizanja, Chipasula, Biwi, Mchesi, Kamuzu institute, and area 23 where forty (40) vehicles have been impounded.

The 40 impounded motor vehicles have been detected with different traffic offences that ranges from exceeding seating capacity, driving without valid permits, worn out tyres and defective break lights, without driving licence just to mention a few.

The impounded vehicles are mostly used in conveyance of passengers for monetory gain that include taxi and minibuses
