Kawale Police Senior Officers were on Monday, February 23, 2026 drilled in various leadership skills for effective decision making in police hierarchy an element towards good image building in Police organization.
The Station Officer (SO) Senior Supritendent Gladys Chiwaula chaired the meeting that targeted all senior officers from Kawale Police Station and it’s lower formations.
During the meeting, the station officer Senior Supritendent Gladys Chiwaula urged officers to take the meeting seriously citing that the skills shared will be useful in making prudent decisions.
“Discipline enforcement in junior officers demands leaders who can make sound decisions which can be justifiable to subordinates and to the people we serve.” She said
Senior Supritendent Gladys Chiwaula further informed the attendees that as station managers there is need to be driven by police ethics and professionalism.
She therefore called upon all senior officers to be on the lead in show casing highest level of integrity, professionalism and sound decisions whenever leading subordinates.
Senior Supritendent Gladys Chiwaula further discouraged corruption citing that it dents image of Malawi Police Services (MPS) as an organisation.
Lets work to meet the expectations of the community we serve which in turn will drastically reduce mob justice acts.
Supritendent Mike Simika did the facilitation on leadership slot where he unpacked various tips including types of leadership and qualities of a good leader.
Towards the end of the workshop Officers were fine tuned with tips in customer care, ethical conduct in maintaining of registers as facilitated by Assistant Supritendent Robert Mleule and Inspector Chisomo Beni.
In conclusion the Station Officer (SO) Senior Supritendent Gladys Chiwaula charged officers to go and lead by example, act as a mirror for junior officers to emulate police standards. And encouraged them to chose the leadership style based on the situation on ground.
