The Officer In-Charge for Kawale, Mr Davie Chilarile (ACP) and team on January 31,2025 joined forces with Biwi Skilled Artisans in creating a friendly environment through tree planting within Biwi Industrial Site.
During the event which took place at Biwi Arts Centre, Mr. Davie Chilarile Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) emphasized the importance of patriotism and cohesive approach towards dressing the industrial site green.
Chilarile urged the participants to take a good care of the planted seedlings for it’s survival and be a beneficial to the generation to come.
“Don’t wait for by-laws to enforce environmental conservation, be patriotic and take responsibility in protecting the environment.
Biwi Light Weight Industry Chair Person, Malani Gondwe highlited the importance for Skilled Artisans Community to put in place measures that mitigate pollution within the area.

“We acknowledge that, like any other industries, the Skilled Artisans also contribute to the environmental pollution through activities like paintings, tyre burning and vehicle maintenance which releases fumes into the air” Said Gondwe.
He further called on communites within Biwi Industrial Site to unite in greening the area through tree planting urging them to keep the initiative free from political influence.
In closing, Gondwe expressed gratitude to Kawale Officer In-Charge, Mr Davie Chilarile and his team for their presence and support in the initiative.
