Police in Kawale through its Traffic department has on January 23,2025 impounded 40 motor vehicles for contravening various road traffic regulations.
The Station Traffic Officer, Assistant Superintendent Suezen Kamgwawo led the team in an operation within the road network of Kawale to ensure sanity.
Motorist, who attempted to defeat the operation by using unchartered routes were equally intercepted by traffic riders who were on the assignment.
During the operation traffic officers patronized Chizanja ,Mchesi and road that connects to Kamuzu Institute and Area 23 where motorist have been booked for offences like exceeding seating capacity, wornout tyres and without valid permits just to mention but a few
Min buses and saloon vehicle that are used for conveyance of passengers for business purposes were on target.
This is just a continuation of the festive season exercise which has seen the Station recording a reduced number of road accidents by 25%
