Kawale Police engages Athens Private School with security messages

Kawale Police Station through community policing branch casted their net wide by engaging private school learners with security messages to end criminality among teenagers.

The awareness meeting held on Thursday, March 9, 2022 at Athens Private Secondary School in Area 23 equiped learners with various tips such as refraining from indulging in immoral practices, drug and substance abuse and theft.

During the meeting, Inspector Mayeso Chikadza warned students against early marriages.

“Guard your future, never get married whilst young for that has a lot of negative implications on ones health living as well as economic development” Chikadza lamented.

Chikadza further elucidated some forms of sexual abuse saying if they fall victims of such, they should not hastate reporting to police or other persons in authority.

Continuing, Traffic Sergeant Phillip Kachereko and Sergeant Leanly Chikuni drilled students with road safety tips as a way of avoiding accidents.

The Headteacher for the school, Steven Chiyaka Phiri was grateful with the visit, citing that the messages shared have laid a strong foundation to the learner’s as they have been enlightened on some of the laws.
