ESCOM LAYS OFF EMPLOYEES DUE TO MISCONDUCT

Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) has terminated the employment of some individuals implicated in misconduct within the company during the past month of December.

Among those dismissed is the Chief Executive Officer of the Operations Agreement, Charity Harawa.

According to confirmed reports, indicate the allegation against Harawa suggests a violation of her employment contract by both manipulating performance records and using company vehicles for personal purposes.

William Mnyamura, the Chief Executive of the Operations Agreement, has taken responsibility for these actions.

Employees at ESCOM expressing satisfaction with the accountability demonstrated through the dismissals, reflecting the government’s commitment to fair wage practices amid economic challenges.
