Criminal activities will continue wrecking havoc in communities unless there is genuine collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies and community structures; a cited critical working relationship to successfully reduce crime rate.
Dedza Police Station Officer-In-Charge, Mwizamose Nyoni disclosed this on Tuesday; revealing they have since enhanced their collaboration with the business community, Non-Governmental Organizations and relevant stakeholders to help cushion challenges they face in providing security to residents.
“We are reviewing our action plan and with the collaboration we have with community structures, we have managed to reduce different crimes this this year compared to last year,” says Nyoni.
She was speaking when presenting awards to 28 best performing officers in the district; an initiative she thinks will motivate her subjects.
Meanwhile, Station Executive Committee Chairperson, Peter Msukwa pledges total support to police in the district in its drive to reduce criminal records.
