CENTRE FOR SOCIAL CONCERN DRILL VGH’s AND ADC’s OF TA BWANANYAMBI AND STA CHIUNDA ON A NEW PROJECT

Center for social concern (CfSC) on 17th and 18th November,engaged the group village headmen and Area Development Committee of Traditional authority Bwananyambi and Sub-Traditional authority Chiunda in Mangochi on project called building covid 19 resilience through promoting transparency and accountability in public finance management for ultimate aim of reducing poverty and inequality.

CfSC is a faith-based organization working to transform the unjust structures through research and advocacy to ensure sustained change in policies for the betterment of all in line with their human dignity.

Speaking through all days of workshop at fort Johnston lodge, the centre’s programme officer, responsible for economic governance Bernard Mphepo, said that empowering citizens to meet the intended purpose of this project is paramount and essential,it has been a challenge for citizens to demand transparency and accountability.
“The project is all about building COVID-19 resilience through promoting transparency and accountability in public finance management for reduced poverty and inequality” said Mpepo.

Mphepo further added and emphasized that the desire of CfSC is to see empowered citizens who can demand answers from duty-bearers on issues bordering on public financing is being carried in transparency and accountability manner.

Group Village Headman Masuku, representing T/A Bwananyambi concurred with CfSC for the project and sighted that it will help to address crisis that the divastating covid 19 pandemic caused and brought to Bwananyambi area mainly in socio-economic functions.

Speaking on behalf of Sub T/A Chiunda,Group village Headman Chimesya said that the project will help for betterment of all in line with human dignity and transform Chiunda area and now will be able to track down progress of every development in their area
