Police in Kawale have engaged political stakeholders to promote peace and tolerance during the upcoming campaign period in preparation for the September 16, 2025 General Elections.
The call was made during the pool bonanza the Station hosted at Big Boys Club which attracted youths within Kawale and political party representatives from UTM, MCP ,DPP and Ras Chikomeni Party.
The Officer In-Charge Mr Davie Chilalire Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP addressed the gathering with a stern warning to the youth not to be used by politicians as weapons of political violence at the expense of hand outs.

“Let’s not be divided due to different party affiliations. We are all Malawians. Use your energy for other productive activities that will benefit the country” Chilalire emphasised.
During the two days Bonanza that attracted 12 teams from Kawale and surrounding areas, Chilalire expressed worry over some zealous youths who always breath the wrath of violence during campaign periods used by politicians who tends to gain political ground through such acts.
Political party representatives, Nathan Dimba from the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) hailed the Officer In-Charge Mr Davie Chilalire for the initiative and further urged party supporters to love Malawi by promoting peace and love amongst different political parties while Honarable Chidanti Malunga from UTM echoed the centiments by the Officer In-Charge and promised to embrace tolerance, peaceful campaign and denounce political violence.
Station’s Community Policing Coordinator Inspector Mayeso Chikadza took advantage to address the patronage on Mob Justice, Defilement cases, Gender based Violence and issues of Suicide that reigns among the youthful generation.
She urged the gathering to combat such issues through openess, reporting to police and engaging other people that matters in society.
At the end of the Bonanza Lions Den team emerged the champions while Navada and Atate teams scooped second and third place respectively.
