13 die in Ntcheu road accident

13 people have died while others sustained different degrees of injuries when a Toyota Hiace Minibus registration number DZ 7042 was involved in a head-on collision with a Bus belonging to Tam-Tam Bus Service registration number CP 7920, at Guya village, less than two hundred mitres from Mlanda Trading Centre on Friday night.

The minibus which was being driven by unknown driver who is among the dead, was coming from the direction of Dedza heading Ntcheu.

Upon arrival at the said place, due to the reasons yet to be established, it collided with Tam-Tam bus which was coming from the direction of Ntcheu.

Following the impact, 12 passengers and driver, all from the minibus, died upon arrival at Dedza District Hospital.

Of the 13 dead, seven are males and six females.

Three passengers sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving medical attention at the said district hospital.

Police is still on the ground to tryig to get more details of the accident, and the nation will be updated accordingly.

Our hearts and souls are with those who have lost their loved through this tragic accident.
