UGANDA’S EX ARMY COMMANDER SURVIVES ASSASSINATION ATTACK; DAUGHTER DIES

Uganda’s former Army Commander, General Katumba Wamala, has survived an assassination attack by unknown people, his daughter and a driver have died on the spot.

General Wamala is the current minister of Transport for Uganda.

Gen. Katumba Wamala has been shot in the chest and the hand, he is still alive and has been taken to Malcolm hospital just few meters away from the spot.

The assassination attack took place in Bukoto around 9am this morning, the place is close to his home in the capital Kampala.

Eye witnesses told Omankyeame publication that gunmen who shot General’s car were riding on a motorcycle.

Over the past years Uganda has been rocked by such shootings by armed men riding on motorcycles.

In June 2018, Ibrahim Abiriga, a flamboyant politician and ardent supporter of president Yoweri Museveni was shot and killed near his home.

President Yoweri Museveni has ruled Uganda for 35 years and he has just been sworn in for a new term of office.
