Manchester City lifted the FA Cup after edging Chelsea 1-0 in a heated final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening, thanks to the Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo to a massive strike in the 72nd minute, cleverly backheeling Erling Haaland’s low delivery beyond Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez to hand Pep Guardiola’s side another major trophy. The goal capped a tightly contested encounter in which clear-cut chances were limited for long periods.
Chelsea started brightly and enjoyed spells of possession with off targetted shots, both Cole Palmer and João Pedro had vowed threatening attacks, but City’s defence remained composed under pressure in an 83,337 filled to capacity Stadium

Guardiola’s tactical adjustments in the second half proved crucial, as substitute Rayan Cherki added creativity and momentum to City’s attacking play.
Haaland, who was heavily involved throughout the match, turned provider for the winning goal after driving into the box and sending a dangerous cross toward Semenyo. The winger’s improvised finish left Wembley stunned and ultimately settled the final.
Chelsea pushed for an equaliser late on, introducing Pedro Neto, Liam Delap and Alejandro Garnacho from the bench, but City held firm to secure their eighth FA Cup title and complete a domestic cup double following their League Cup success earlier in the season.
The victory also proved another milestone for Guardiola, whose side became the first English club to appear in four consecutive FA Cup finals. Questions continue to surround the Spaniard’s long-term future at the club, but City once again demonstrated their ability to deliver on the biggest stage.

Attention now turns back to the Premier League title race. City will travel to Bournemouth in midweek before hosting Aston Villa on the final day of the campaign, while Chelsea face Tottenham before concluding their season away at Sunderland
