Police in Kawale have pledged to crackdown resurfacing incidents of robberies in Chiuzira and surrounding places within Area 23.
This follows the blossoming of robbery cases within Area 23 , orchestrated by young men who put on face masks during robbery missions under the banner Gaza group.
In a shear display of it’s committiment, Area 23 detectives have arrested eight suspected criminals including their ring leader, Hadjida Idrissah.
The eight, identified as Hadjida Idrissah ,19, Steve Banda, 22, Kondwani Titeni, 23, Harrison Gilbert, 18, Gift Mwase, 20, Peter Mphatsa, Vincent Anafi, and Bezai Gift
The eight individuals have been operateing under a gang group nicknamed Gaza, they got arrested during the night of October 21, 2025 following a spade of robberies reported at Area 23 Police Unit, which prompted detectives to launch into a head on arrests.
Meanwhile, following these arrests over three outstanding cases have been sorted.
They will appear before court later this week after completion of paperwork.
Idrissah hails from Sakala Village, Traditional Authority Kuntumanje in Zomba, Steve Banda comes from Salima,Kondwani Titeni comes from Ntcheu, while Gilbert comes from Chiuzira in Lilongwe
