Patients at Neno District Hospital are not being assisted on weekends due to disagreements over locum money which the hospital is failing to give to its medical workers working on weekends.
A well placed source at the hospital who sought anonymity says the workers are unwilling to work over the weekends but rather only work during working days at Out Patient Department (OPD) as they are not being given allowances for working on weekends.
The source say this trend has been there for months now.
The patient in the picture was referred to Neno District Hospital from Dambe Health Centre but was left unattended to and spent the night outside the hospital.
