The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has made a historic appointment by selecting Malawian female referee, Mercy Kayira, to officiate the upcoming match between Kenya and Cameroon in the Women’s African Cup qualifiers. This significant event is scheduled for Tuesday, 26th September in Kenya.
Mercy Kayira is set to embark on her journey to Kenya on the 24th of September, departing from Kamuzu International Airport. Her appointment is a testament to her remarkable skills and dedication to the sport, breaking barriers in the world of football officiating.
Following her duties in Kenya, Mercy’s journey continues as she heads to South Africa on Friday, 28th September 2023. The Council of Southern African Football Association (COSAFA) has also recognized her talents, assigning her to officiate games in the COSAFA tournament.
