AIRTEL TOP 8, LAUNCHES WITH A SPONSORSHIP OF K78 MILLION, ON 23 SEPTEMBER 2023.

The sixth edition of Zamadolo, Airtel Top 8 football Tournament wraps a current sponsorship of K234 million which has run from 2021 to 2023.

Airtel Top 8 will see the Winners going home with 17million Kwacha, and all participants receives a subvention of K1 million kwacha. The current sponsorship sits on K78 million

Top goal scorer and player of the tournament will receive each K500,000 where as player of the match takes home K50,000 plus a miniature.

Making clarification at, Football Association of Malawi vice president says the launch will take place in Lilongwe Bingu National Stadium between Silver strikers and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers on 23 September and it will wrap up in December 2023.

Making draws, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers plays Kamuzu Barracks, Nyasa Big Bullets takes Blue Eagles. Silver Strikers will play MAFCO and Moyale Barracks up against Civil service United FC.

The revolutionary Airtel TV mobile App in conjunction with Mpira TV will broadcast all the Top 8 games in the upcoming Airtel Top 8. And all media houses are encouraged to partner with Airtel in beaming the games.

In his remarks, FAM Veep indicates that the format for playing has not changed, where in the first round of the competition the clubs finishing from position five to eight positions of the Super League in the previous season will be the home teams in the first leg. The clubs will play against each other as follows: –

• Quarterfinal 1: Position One (1) will play position Eight (8)

• Quarterfinal 2: Position Two (2) will play position Seven (7).

• Quarterfinal 3: Position Three (3) will play position Six (6).

• Quarterfinal 4: Position Four (4) will play position Five (5).

And lastly, there shall be a draw for the semi-final and the final.
