The massive plunder of funds in local Councils has prompted the Department of Disaster Management Affairs-DoDMA to initiate an inspection of disasters coffers.
It comes as the department has activated its national response mechanism to ensure that the country is in a state of preparedness for any disasters.
It gives power to city and district councils to respond to possible impacts of disasters.
Commissioner for Disaster Management Affairs James Chiusiwa indicates that continued tracking of funds will be done to avoid cases of fraud.
