The country’s main grain trader established under the Parliamentary act ADMARC is rolling out on the agricultural commodity market today. Admarc officials indicated that they are starting their grain buying operation today in the southern region. It is set to offer the minimum farmgate prices and encourage all other players to follow suit.
Alexander Kusamba Dzonzi the Board chairperson for Admarc, urged farmers to bring their produce which has low moisture content for fair trading. He also added that their first target currently is the legume seed produce and later will expand to cereals but strict to the proposed minimum government set prices.
Dzonzi in his finally pleaded to local farmers not to sell their produce to local vendors on low prices but rather trade with Admarc.
