MRA SET TO AUCTION GOODS, 174 VEHICLES OVER FAILED DUTY CLEARANCE

The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) says it will auction 174 vehicles and other assorted goods, whose owners failed to clear for duty.

According to a statement published on its website today Friday, the auctioning of the vehicles will take on August 20 to September 8 2021 in all its designated stations across the country.

The statement further says the auction sale is aimed at recovering revenues and to ensure that its stations are not congested by uncleared imports, which make space challenges for the new imports.

The auctioning of the said vehicles and goods follows another notice by the Authority in March this year, in which it had reminded all importers whose vehicles and goods had not been cleared to have been cleared within period of 30 days.
