A 73 year old man is on remand at Maula prison in Lilongwe following his recent arrest on suspicion of defiling his three biological daughters between the ages of 5 and 12, Publicist for Kawale Police Sergeant Mabvuto Phiri has confirmed.
“The suspect invited them to his bedroom where he defiled them, one after another,” said Phiri.
“Kamuzu Central Hospital has confirmed the three were sexually assaulted,” he added.
The suspect, Malison Phiri, has since appeared before the Lilongwe Senior Resident Magistrate Court.
He has been charged of incest, an offense the Police Publicist says carries a maximum custodial sentence of 20 years
