It all started like a funny query where the Mafana Olimbikira Koma Ochepekedwa (MOKO) movement, Provoked National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) management to provide detailed information of names of the people or groups that have benefited NEEF Loans.
The Acting CEO Mr Humphrey Mdyetseni gave a hearing ear to the MOKO guys on Monday the 14th of June 2021 and later twisted his decision only to hold a meeting with their representative, Mr Kelvin Sulungwe.
Unfortunately, this did not go well with the MOKO Movement. Writting on his Facebook page Mr Sulungwe showed dissatisfaction of the postponement, as he noted Mr Mdyetseni the Acting CEO took their plea for granted. The movement therefore demanded Neef to publish necessary information that will respond to the following points
- Names of the beneficiaries to Neef loans (that is the 200 plus people Neef claims to have remmitted it’s loans)
- The requirements that those businesses have provided
- The amounts each group or individual accessed
Going by the demands, the movement has threatened to hold vigils at Neef offices after 7days if their demands are taken likely.
Avantmalawi has discovered that, these demands from MOKO movement comes at a time the Head of state, Dr Lazarus Chakwera has called on NEEF to work independently and stop favoring Political parties when dispatching NEEF Loans.
It is alleged that Neef has for quite some time been favoring the current regime Party followers when remmitting loans. Be it the case, youths have for quite some time demanded for fairness in the ALLEGATIONS, since they claim their business suffer from registration stage without working capital.
