Dyson Biliati dropped out of school due to circumstances surrounding his life, he then stormed the streets as a beggar.
Biliati came to limelight after he released a song in 2006 titled ‘Mchikumbe walira’.
The song mesmerized the nation and people were eager to know the brain behind the famous song.
He was spotted by former Capital FM presenter late Kennedy Namandwa Mkombezi, who fished out the boy out of the streets.
Within a short period a good samaritan emerged, it was the family of Sam Kaphuka from Chirimba in Blantyre.
The young street boy was enrolled at Kaphuka Private Primary School as a standard 4 pupil.
After the enrollment, the name Dyson Biliati was out of public ears until yesterday when the man was spotted graduating from University of Malawi.
Dyson Biliati has graduated from Chancellor College with a credit.
Unfortunately the brains that spearheaded his education career have all joined their ancestors the likes of Kennedy Namandwa Mkombezi and Jack Samuel Kaphuka.
Life is a journey of unpredictable circumstances, Dyson Biliati moved from a street kid to a university graduate.
“HIS UNIVERSITY EDUCATION AT CHANCELLOR COLLEGE WAS UNDER THREAT” – Namadingo writes

June 2016 I read an article from the Nation newspaper. Dyson Biliyati an upcoming Musician in Malawi. Was looking for help. In need of just half his tuition fees. The government had made a provision of half the needed amount. But if he was not going to find the other half it meant going back to the village. I am pro education, I quickly looked for him and invited him to Blantyre. Very sad story I heard.
A young man coming from a typical village. No one in his family to help him. So I went ahead and gave him the money he needed and something little to see him off on his way to pursue education. After sometime he would call me and tell me the hardships he was meeting whilst in school. I would then encourage him to stay focused and keep his head low. Fast forward the guy has now graduated after hardships and yet to carry on on his music ambitions.
I will be glad to help where I can in his musical journey.
Congratulations to Dyson Biliyati for making it to the finishing line. It wasn’t easy. But I assure him. It was worth it. On behalf of Namartists. We salute you!
