On 24th April, 2021 as the nation went into mourning of the former vice president, Dr Justin Malewezi at Likuni where the current president, Lazarus Chakwera and many dignitaries escorted Malewezi to his final home. It is noted that Former president Peter Munthalika was at the same time holding an engagement for his step son in Mangochi.
Reports gathered indicates, Peter Munthalika, his wife and Everton Chimulirenji supported Tadikira, who is the step son to Munthalika, who got engaged to Queen.
Much has been said by various quarters rebuking the behavior as un cultural, calling on the former president to have communicated or delegate a representative on his behalf at the funeral.

Speaking to Ken Msonda, he narrated the Development as unfortunate, calling on the former president who is the party leader of Democratic Progressive to have showed remorse and weep together with the nation.
Writting on her Facebook, the former secretary General of Dpp extended her views “we should mourn with those who mourn, as a party our leader has failed us by not delegating anyone” she said.
On the Contrary, we noticed at the funeral, Hon Kondwani Nankhumwa leader of opposition whom at the time was not representing his party or the former president, as he was not delegated.
Among other absentia at the funeral was, the former vice president Cassim Chilumpha and Khumbo Kachali respectively.
