Scores of people gathered at Likuni ground in Lilongwe this morning to pay their last respect to Malawi’s fallen former Vice President Justin Malewezi.
President Lazarus Chakwera, Vice president Saulos Chilima, former presidents Joyce Banda and Bakili Muluzi, Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Gotani Hara, Leader of Opposition in Parliament Kondwani Nankhumwa and Paramount Chief Kalonga Gawa Undi are among notable dignitaries present at the ceremony.
In his eulogy, President Chakwera has described the late Malewezi as a selfless leader who served the nation to the best interest of poor common people.

President Lazarus Chakwera has described late Malewezi as someone who was his vessel of wisdom by the time he ventured into politics.
He said late Malewezi believed in unity, peace and to be food secure either at a family or as a country.
Chakwera said late Malewezi was an example of what leadership is all about.
He said Malewezi loved the country and worked with a common goal of public interest.
