Mphata cooperative in the area of Traditional Authority maseya in chikwawa district had dialogue with their farmers on best they can work in bringing electricity in their area.
According to the chairperson of Concerned farmers Henry San the electricity is not enough in there area as it only carters for 20 percent.
“We were expecting that electricity will reach up to 80 percent of the households which are ready to be electificated but the situation is not the same as only few people have accessed electricity,” Said San.
The meeting agreed that they should apply for a loan under Mphata account so that they should electrifify villages and the money will be refunded by deducting their dividents.
On the other hand chairperson of farmers committee Yohan Malizan said the loan will presented to the authorized office.
“I will present it to authorized office and l believe this will be okay”, Said Malizani.
Mphata cooperative is company that grow sugar cane and it supplies electricity through fair trade to their farmers.
