KASUNGU POLICE ARRESTS TWO WOMEN IN AN ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF INDIAN HEMP

Two women have been arrested in Kasungu District for allegedly being found in possession of chamba.

Deputy publicist for Kasungu Police, Miracle Mkozi, has identified the two as Zyala Ntchalachala, 36 and Georgina Nkhata, 25.

It is said that on March 22,2021 police in the district got a tip-off from well wishers that the first suspect was keeping Cannabis Sativa in her house.

Upon making a follow up,13 bags wrapped in plastic sheets like bales of clothes were found, leading to her arrest.

On the same day, the second suspect was arrested in a bus at Chisazima roadblock as officers were checking vehicles.

According to Mkozi, the suspect was found with three bags fully loaded with the illict crop.

The two will appear in court soon to answer charges levelled against them.

Ntchalachala hails from Kaning’a Village, Traditional Authority Kaomba while Georgina Nkhata hails from Malemia Village, Traditional Authority Mwase both in Kasungu District.
