Avantmalawi can reveal that the high Court sitting in Blantyre which was supposed to deliver its rulling on the Lower Shire electoral case on 29th January 2021 has reserved its rulling till 2nd February, 2021.
As communicated days ago, this is the case where Hon Foster Thipiwa, Enock Chizuzu and Kafandikhale Mandevana took Malawi electoral commission to book over massive irregularities that Hon Francis Kansaira ,Hon Esther Chilenje among others were declared winner in 2019 Tripartite elections.
The high Court has set the second day of the month of February 2021 with no reasons given but avantmalawi believes that the change might have come due to change in working schedules since the Covid-19 pandemic has not spared the judicial working system. The pandemic has forced the judiciary to work in shifts. It is has also been made public that the High Court Judge Slyvester Kalembera will deliver the judgement in open court under a restricted audience whose presence will adhere to COVID19 preventive measures
