Kawale Police calls for traffic rules adherence, 35 Motor-vehicles impounded

Police in Kawale through its Traffic branch has on March 11, 2026 called upon motorist to use motor vehicles based on its intended purpose.

The call comes in following the influx of goods vehicle (Lorries) being used in conveyance of passengers for reward in Area 24 and Biwi public roads.

According to Assistant Supritendent John Benjamin Nyangulu, Station Traffic Officer (STO), it has been noted with great concern that Lorries and minibuses are found operating against their intended purposes posing a threat to lives of passengers and other road users.And has since promised a continuation of such operations as a committiment to curb the vise.

During today’s operation, the station impounded 35 Motor-vehicles for breaching various traffic regulations that includes endangering safety of passengers, undocumented, without insurance and certificate of fitness.

This is a continuation of the same that the station conducted on March 5, this year in which 55 vehicles were booked and the operation posed to focus Area 24 and Biwi routes.

Meanwhile, Police in the area continues to warns motorists against breaching road traffic rules, as police will not relent but to enforce the law with full force.
