EU Computer donation excites Kawale Police

The Delegation of European Union to Malawi has, on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 donated 14 computers to Kawale Police Station in a move to facilitate office operations, a thing that has brought smiles to law enforcers.

The donation took place at the EU Delegation offices in Lilongwe under the direct authorization of His Excellence, the Ambassador Rune Skinnebach who at the time of the donation was represented by EU administration officer, Mrs Nelece Phiri who handed over the items to Kawale Police Officer in Charge.

Mrs Phiri, speaking on behalf of EU expressed her commitment in helping out police in various ways. She further revealed their satisfaction over the Station’s performance on upholding the fundamental rights of individuals who are in conflict with the law including young offenders.

“We have been following the reports about Kawale Police through Irish rule of Law and we are impressed with the performance of the Station in adherence to the 48-hour rule and child rights” said Elisy Phiri

She promised of continued support to Kawale Police to enhance it’s daily operations.

Officer In-Charge for Kawale Police, Mr Davie Chilalire (ACP) hailed the donation and pointed out that the items received will ease the ever growing pressure in service delivery. He further promised that the items will be catalyst in speeding up some paper work thereby observing the 48-hour rule in the process of prosecuting cases that have suspects in holding cells.

The computers are posed to be distributed to various branches at Kawale and trickle down to its police Units of Kang’oma, Area 23, Area 24 and Biwi.
