Biwi Police Unit under Kawale on October 9, 2024 joined other Stakeholders from NICE trust and Labour in lobbying communities within the area to take a leading role in the fight against crime.The team reached out Skilled artisan, business owners and Shop workers in comfort of their working places through a shop to shop tour.
Police representative Sergeant Blessings Mantchombe from Biwi Police Unit warned business owners against buying goods from suspicious individuals offering goods at a give away price without authentic documents citing that it promotes criminality.
Mantchombe further tackled issues of mob justice, an act that derail police invegations and hinder legal justice.He therefore urged people within the area to desist from such acts which at times keeps other criminals go scot free
Winding his speech Sergeant Blessings Mantchombe advised the skilled artisan to refrain from irresponsible beer drinking which render others incapacitated and fuel some violent crimes.
Labour official, Suzgika Msowoya Nyirenda addressed the patronage against child labour she lamented the habit of other business owners of employig young boys and girls denying them the opportunity to pursue education at the expense of temporary piece works.
Speaking during the tour, Alexander Malikha and Aarone Mzumala from National Initiative for Civic Education NICE trust highlighted on becomig responsible citizen by among others not involving in girls and women exploitation mostly those who hand carry their businesses like banana sellers who at times are taken advantage of their situations and are sexually exploited by these skilled artisan and other business owners within the area which in the long run have a negative impact on their healthy and leads to miserable family a direct contribution to unproductive society.
National Initiative for Civic Education NICE trust organized the tour targeting them in their various designated business places around Biwi Industrial site with full package of experts from the aforementioned organisations which brought excitement to many around the area going by the compliments made by Chair Person of Biwi Light Weight Industry, Malani Gondwe who cited that it was indeed a good encounter full of educative tips.
