Weather Disrupts Chilima’s Plans

The plane carrying the country’s Vice President, Saulos Klaus Chilima, was unable to land at Mzuzu Airport due to bad weather in the city.

This has prevented Chilima from attending the funeral of the late Ralph Kasambara, which is taking place today.

According to reports, Chilima was supposed to attend the funeral, being held in the village of Chijere Chirwa in Nkhatabay district.

Other reports indicate that Chilima’s inability to attend the funeral is also due to his need to be at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe, where the President, Lazarus Chakwera, is scheduled to depart for the Bahamas.

It is being reported that the President’s plane has now landed.

So far Dr Lazarus Chakwera has rescheduled his departure to Bahamas
