“Malawi Expects February Rain Relief”

The Department of Climate Change has announced that rain is set to resume in the country beginning Thursday, February 1, 2024, as reported by Avant. Yobu Kachiwanda, the spokesperson for the department, stated that the rainfall is expected to persist throughout the entire month of February, interspersed with occasional brief dry spells.

This news brings relief to many Malawians who were anxious about the dry spell’s impact on crops in various regions. The concern arose as the dry spell had already started affecting fields across the country. Notably, Malawi experienced an early onset of rains in December 2023, deviating from the usual weather pattern observed in previous years.
