Ministry of Trade Issues Warning on Unauthorized Poultry Distribution

The Ministry of Trade and Industry is issuing a stern warning against the unauthorized distribution of live poultry, emphasizing the importance of official authorization for those involved in the trade.

Francis Zhuwao, the Principal Secretary for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives within the Ministry of Trade, stressed that failure to comply with the regulations may lead to legal consequences. To ensure strict adherence, the Malawi Police Service has been actively involved in enforcing this directive.

Setting a deadline of 29 February, 2024, the Ministry is urging all relevant parties to complete their registration processes promptly. This move aligns with the Business Licensing Regulations established by the ministry, underscoring the necessity for aspiring poultry business owners to strictly adhere to the specified guidelines.
