Police, Health and clergy in GBV sensitisation meetings

Lumbadzi police station in collaboration with Mission for Jesus ministry and Chinkhuti Health center are on a gender based violence sensitisation campaign in the area of senior chief Chitukula in Lilongwe aiming at eradicating the vice.

During the meetings, various sectors of the society were reminded of their roles and urged to be good ambassadors to promote unity and end gender based violence.

For instance, traditional leaders are reminded of their roles as custodians of culture who are responsible to advise their subjects in various aspects of life such as security, health, religion among others.

Taking her turn, Nurse and midwifery technician at Chinkhuti Health Centre Prisca Chigwenembe, advised the gathering on health living and encouraged the people to always go to the hospital whenever feeling unwell.
She further shared information on sexual reproductive and health rights and general health topics.

Pastor Jeremiah Haleke of Mission for Jesus advised chiefs and the whole gathering to put God first in their daily activities. He said their ministry will continue working with other stakeholders to reach out to the people in need.

On behalf of other chiefs, Lackson Makaniko – Senior group Kalambalika described the meeting as influential citing that it has encapsulated various aspects of life.
