Kawale Police Station through Community Policing and Services Branch on May 19, 2022 met chiefs and block leaders of Area 22 and Biwi locations encouraging them to establish crime prevention panels to fight crime in their areas.
The call was made following positive results yielded from the same initiative within Chilinde, Kawale 1 and 2 locations since its inception.
Speaking during the meeting Supritendent Chrispin Zintambira, Kawale Station Officer, charged the traditional leaders present to have similar community policing structures in their areas.
Zintambira further advised chiefs to emulate the good example demonstrated by some other villages.
Chiutira Subiri, Station Executive Committee chairperson and Dr Alex Chapondela, Regional Executive Committee chairperson disseminated the same message targeting the importance of having crime prevention panels in their respective areas.
All the chiefs and block leaders who were present went home with a pledge to have their own teams before May 23, 2022.
