UNPAID JANUARY SALARIES ANGER TEACHERS IN ZOMBA

Avantmalawi has confirmed reports that over 200 primary school teachers in Zomba, who claim their names were deleted on government payroll and have not yet received their January salaries, have gathered at the district council’s office, demanding answers on the matter.

One of the victimised teachers, name with held, said officials at the District Education office told them to file letters to claim their unpaid salaries.

The teacher explained that they were unsatisfied with the response. As a result they opted to gather at the District Commissioner’s office to seek his intervention on the matter.

Meanwhile, officials at the district council and the teachers representatives are currently locked in a meeting, to find the positive solution.
