As tnm super league goes into day 19 since it started, it has beenĀ brought into our attention that followers are dismayed with government decision to ban spectators watching games as one way of controlling the spread of Covid 19 pandemic.
Over the weekend Mighty Wanderers FC had a game in mzuzu where they played against Ekwendeni hummers, due to Covid-19 preventive measures fans were disallowed to watch the interesting game.
Surprisingly, as one door closes people had to take advantage of the fence and trees surrounding the stadium.
The Car park was full of supporters, It was a normal day to most of them, quarters were heard murmuring. “If it was a political rally, we could be around inside – they can’t afford to let us in, simply because politicians won’t benefit.”

The question that left avantmalawi was – why are fans not allowed to watch games but rather patrol political rallies? Isn’t it safe controlling both political rallies and both football games?
Isn’t it selfish watching politicians populate their rallies and on the other hand forbidding football games?
We need to have clear guidance on this, otherwise if Covid19 third wave cometh – we know whom to blame.
