BWAILA HOSPITAL INCONSIDERATE ON STUDENTS COVID-19 TESTS AHEAD OF SCHOOL REOPENING

Following announcement made by the co-ministers for Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda and the minister for Education Agness Nyalonje, schools are set to reopen this coming Monday the 22nd February, 2021 for boarding schools students arrival is Sunday a day before the official opening day.

Despite all the efforts made by the presidential task force and the ministry of Education to ensure education is back on track Bwaila District Hospital seems to be singing a different story and dreaming different dreams.

As students have been flocking to the government facility for Covid-19 tests before leaving for their respective campuses in an effort to satisfy readmission guidelines, Bwaila Covid-19 testing centre has its own styles of handling urgent national issues regardless of the government efforts and directives.

All the students going for Covid-19 tests are told to come on Tuesday to collect their results hence they are supposed to depart on Sunday. This means the facility has denied the said students right to education for 2 to 3 days while their counterparts will be enjoying maximum rights on the same in various schools across the country.

Avantmalawi want to put the record straight to authorities of Bwaila Hospital, the ministry of health and ministry of Education to workout today and tomorrow, make deliberate arrangements you may think of up until the students in question are assisted, our eyes are wide open. Let the allowances work here for the health workers assigned for this specific duty if it means so, mind you millions are at your disposal Malawians deserve better than this.
