Kawale Police through area 23 Community Policing on February 10,2021 stormed the house of a 29-year old Memory Kabango for allegedly denying a 2 -year-old Child to receive medical treatment for her burnt wounds amid covid -19 testing fears when the woman visits the hospital.
The child ( name with held)was reportedly burnt accidentally on January 29,2021, but the Woman opted to keep the Child in door fearing the hospital nurses will test her of covid-19 when she visits the hospital.
The Police led by Inspector Funny Majoni went ahead and discovered that the child was kept in a house instead of going with her to hospital as she was in great pain of scalds.
When asked, the woman claimed that they have family doctor who was nursing her while at home, but later abandoned the daughter after seeing that the case was worsening.
Meanwhile the child has been referred to Kamuzu Central Hospital for further medication.
Kabango 29 hails from Saliwa village, Traditional Authority Kalembo in Balaka District.
