Bodies of two fishermen, who went missing on May 21, have been found floating on Lake Malawi.
According to Dedza Police Deputy spokesperson, Cassim Manda, the two; Nose Songeya, 30 and Jali Mwale, 45, went fishing on Lake Malawi in the area of Traditional Authority Kachindamoto in Dedza on the said date and a canoe they were paddling capsized as a result of strong winds.
He added that their bodies were found floating today (May 23) by their colleagues who also went into the
lake to fish.
Postmortem results from hospital revealed that the two died due to suffocation.
Songeya hailed from Leza Village while Mwale hailed from Fole Village, both in the area of Traditional Authority Kachindamoto in the district.
