Water is life. This means humans cannot stay without water but the opposite is what the residents of Lilongwe Area 23 are going through.
Five days have elapsed now with dry taps and the water utility board (Lilongwe Water Board) is at ease despite having a treating plant right there in Area 23.
One may wonder how those entrusted with oversight on public service are so passive that they cannot even give notice or frequently update the users on such hiccups.
Passiveness is huge as well on residents who just legitimize tough times instead of demanding for answers to those responsible.
Water plays vital role in life. It is very dangerous to live that way especially this rain season when the area is hardly spared from waterborne diseases each year.
Residents are urging the utility company, LWB to supply the precious liquid through water bowser to quell dire situation.
