Barely few hours after the arrest of Pastor Martin Mainja of Pest Chem B1 company, Police in Blantyre have also arrested Mzati Nkolokosa, Pedusiane Makalamba, Keith Chikaonda and Prescott Sailesi in connection with the K6.2 billion Covid-19 Christmas.
According to National Police Spokesperson James Kadadzera the police will release a press statement on the arrests in due course.
The arrested individuals are suspected to have misused the Covid-19 funds.
Mzati Nkolokosa is the former director of information, Pedusiane Makalamba is the deputy director general at Department of Immigration, Keith Chikaonda is the principal accountant and Prescott Sailesi is the Council chief fire officer for Blantyre City Council.
As of Sunday 18 April, 2021 the Police made close to 13 arrests, among the arrests are the following
