Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has sent a strong message to Malawians not to view or mistake his bursary scheme with politics.
He addressed the nation Monday afternoon where he provided details on how needy secondary and college students could access his bursary scheme.
Through the scheme, the ECG Jesus Nation Church leader targets to help 5000 needy students with user fees.
“Some capable Malawians fail to offer assistance in various areas for fear of being tarnished as having political interest. The bursary scheme is a sacrifice to the nation and not anything for show-off,” stressed Prophet Bushiri.
He added he would be working to raise the funds and has since asked people to emulate the gesture by assisting needy students.
Prophet Bushiri has repeatedly expressed his commitment and passion to contribute towards improving the education sector.
The move has excited Malawians and education rights campaigners who believe the scheme will help alleviate some of the school fees challenges most students face; shattering their dreams of completing secondary and tertiary education.
