Kawale-based charitable organization, Resilience Rising Foundation (RRF), on Thursday, July 23, 2026, donated reflective vests, plastic buckets, floor mops, and brooms worth K1 million to Kawale Police Station. The donation is aimed at enhancing the safety of law enforcement officers and improving hygiene for both service seekers and suspects.
Speaking on behalf of Kawale Police Officer in-Charge, (OC),Senior Superintendent Gladys Chiwaula, welcomed the officials from RRF.
In her remarks, Senior Superintendent Chiwaula expressed sincere gratitude to the management of Resilience Rising Foundation for the timely support. She said the reflective vests will improve police visibility, thereby contributing to crime prevention, while the donated cleaning materials will help maintain cleanliness in cells and the station’s overall environment.
She also briefed the foundation on several ongoing development projects at the station that require support from well-wishers.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Resilience Rising Foundation Executive Director, Madam Farai Chazima, said the organization chose Kawale Police Station in appreciation of the services it provides to the community.
“Our organization is committed to bringing hope and improving the lives of elderly people and the less privileged. As an organization operating within Kawale, we considered this police station a deserving beneficiary. We also recognize some of the challenges faced by law enforcement officers and are committed to supporting them where possible,” she said.
Farai described the donation as “a starter pack” and assured the station that the foundation would continue supporting its needs.
“We brought these items here as a starter pack. We strongly believe that during our next visit, we will address some of the challenges that the Station Officer has raised,” she added.
Meanwhile, UK-based Malawian and founder of the Resilience Rising Foundation, Madalitso Fanney Chazima, has pledged to donate bags of cement in the near future to support the station’s ongoing building project.
