About seventeen concerned Citizens labelled themselves well wishers have raised their flag in an effort to assist the former head of state professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to raise 69 million which the courts ordered him to pay.
The Sympathisers have questioned the court determination for him and former Chief Secretary to pay K69.5 million for writing Chief Justice, Andrew Nyirenda and Justice Edward Twea to go on forced leave pending their retirement.
Among the concerned citizens, Mundango Nyirenda, Cynthia Chikalimba and Bertha Mkawachale, reveal they have already started mobilizing funds for Mutharika.
The development comes as they doubt if justice is being administered or mere political arrest following the freezing of Mutharika’s accounts.
The Chairperson for the group Mundango Mhango has sided with Mutharika that he can not manage to pay the amount in question since the ACB has frozen his account in connection with fraud charges against Mr Paulos Chisale.
