The High Court Judge Jack Nriva has reversed a ruling on an injunction obtained by the Democratic Progressive Party-DPP legislator and lawyer Shadreck Namalomba, against his removal as chairperson and member of the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee-PAC.
But the DPP lawmaker for Mangochi South West got an injunction last month restraining the Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara and DPP Chief Whip Julius Chione Mwase from acting on his removal.
The injunction was also served on legislator Mark Botomani who replaced him on the position.
Lawyer representing Namalomba, Bob Chimkango argues that it was wrong to dissolve the committee and removing his client from the position.
Representing the speaker of parliament, Attorney General, Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda wants the injunction to be removed and the case dismissed with costs.
Chakaka Nyirenda argues that there are many errors and that Namalomba’s term of office had expired at the time.
