Henry Phoya, a former member of parliament for Blantyre Rural East has joined the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) barely 24 months after joining the United Transformation Movement (UTM).
He was welcome into the Tambala fold by the Regional Chairperson for the South Peter Simbi at MCP Regional Officers in Blantyre.
He joined the party alongside Neria Kachale.
Phoya made a dramatic U-turn in 2012 when he dumped MCP few weeks after joining the party, he moved to People’s Party (PP) where he was given a ministerial position by the then president Joyce Banda.
In the country’s political history Phoya has wined with UDF, DPP, PP, UTM and now MCP.
Phoya says he decided to join MCP inorder to help president Lazarus Chakwera to penetrate in the southern region.
But will Phoya’s move add numbers to MCP as he claim?
