CHAKWERA VISITS MDF TRAINING FIELD

President Dr Lazarus Chakwera in his capacity as Commander In Chief of Malawi’s armed forces on Thursday, June 3, inspected the Malawi Defence Force Field Training Exercise at Luwawa Forest Reserve in Mzimba.

Dressed in full MDF regalia, Dr Chakwera was met by General Vincent Nundwe, Commander of MDF at the Brigade Administration Area before being led to the Operations Room for a briefing by Brigadier General Philip Nyamali, Commandant of Malawi Armed Forces College (MAFCO).

The President then toured the MDF battle group artillery gun line before being led to military defensive position trenches.

A total of 1390 basic soldiers are being trained at Luwawa Forest Reserve together with 20 Platoon Commanders and 29 Company Commanders.
