Police Inspector General visits PTS Mlangeni

The Inspector General (IG) of the Malawi Police Service, Dr George Kainja, on Friday, May 21, 2021 paid a visit to Mlangeni Police Training School in Ntcheu, where he lectured trainers and officers on traffic intake course.

Speaking during the visit, Kainja encouraged the course participants to be fully committed on their lessons to achieve what they came for.
He also emphasized on hard work, dedication and good conduct.

“It is my expectation that when you go out there, you will be professional, disciplined and hard working officers.
I also expect you to go and perform the noble duty as responsible police officers ” Kainja said.

The police IG further advised the course participants to say no to any acts of corruption and bribery when they are executing their duties.
Kainja, said that his office will not shield or spare any police officer found on the wrong side of the law.

Speaking during the lecture, the Service Training Officer, Mr. Josiah Kanthiti, DCP, thanked the I G for supporting the training office fully and allowing different courses to run in police training schools to equip officers with knowledge and skills in all aspects of policing.

“I am happy and thankful to you Sir, that in all police training institutions in Malawi , there are different courses running.
This shows your commitment to making police officers adapt to knew policing standards in their daily service to the nation”, Kanthiti said.

In his remarks, Mlangeni PTS Commandant, Senior Superintendent Moses Chibwe, thanked the IG for the visit.
He assured the IG of the trainers’ commitment to producing competent, reliable and hard working traffic officers at the end of the course.

The course participants comprising of 39 males and 13 female have been drawn from all police stations in Malawi.
