Mchinji Police spokesperson Limbani Mpinganjira said Chisomo Kawira, who hails from Chinsapo Township in Traditional Authority Malili in Lilongwe, reportedly separated with her husband due to family misunderstandings.
He said yesterday, Kawira allegedly climbed a long brick fence and entered the compound of her ex-husband’s parents in the border district, where she left the baby girl inside the fence before bolting.
The spokesperson said the infant was rescued by a maid after hearing the cries of the baby being harassed by a dog.
